Description
The aim of the project is to respond to a global problem in the medical world: the shortage of healthcare staff, particularly specialist doctors, is forcing hospitals to adapt their working methods. Telemedicine can help meet some of these needs, particularly in emergencies.
The CHL Neonatology project involves developing a ‘connected incubator’ to enable a baby to be transferred in an emergency situation to a specialist site, with continuous supervision of the newborn by a specialist doctor during transport to hospital. The CHL's neonatology department will be able to assist the emergency doctor in the ambulance, with a continuous high-quality image of the baby in the incubator, as well as a real-time view of its vital parameters.
To enable this ‘critical’ communication between the connected incubator and the CHL's neonatology department, advanced 5G technology will be used.
