Biography

Studies and Education After completing her secondary education in 1988, Martine Deprez continued her higher education at the University Courses of Luxembourg before moving on to the University of Liège, where she obtained a degree in Mathematical Sciences in 1992. Governmental Roles Following the legislative elections of October 8, 2023, Martine Deprez was appointed Minister of Health and Social Security on November 17, 2023, in the coalition government between the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) and the Democratic Party (DP). Other Political Functions A member of the CSV since 1986, Martine Deprez has held various roles, including Deputy Secretary General and member of the National Committee. In 2012, she was appointed as a State Councillor, a position she had to leave due to incompatibility upon her government appointment. Professional Activities In 1992, Martine Deprez joined the General Inspectorate of Social Security, where she handled files related to pension insurance, family allowances, accident insurance, and complementary pensions. After her third maternity leave, she successfully completed the training to become a post-primary teacher and was appointed a science teacher specializing in mathematics in 2004. She taught at Lycée Aline Mayrisch until 2011 and then at Lycée Hubert Clément from 2011 until November 16, 2023. At the same time, she served as a State Councillor, primarily responsible for draft laws and grand-ducal regulations related to Health and Social Security.
