Description

Luigi Flora has a PhD in education and is a patient researcher. He specializes in experiential knowledge derived from living with illness, and in the complementarity of knowledge between patients and healthcare professionals. He has successively involved patients in healthcare systems by initiating: the cité de la santé at the cité des sciences in Paris, at the heart of a media library with a health and environment catalog; the 1st patient university in a medical faculty in France with Catherine Tourette-Turgis; he was co-designer of the Montreal model at and from the University of Montreal's Faculty of Medicine with Vincent Dumez. Since 2020, he has co-directed, with a physician, Professor David Darmon, the Centre d'innovation du partenariat avec les patients et le public (CI3P) at the Université Côte d'Azur's Faculty of Medicine, and coordinated the partnership between psychotrauma sufferers and professionals during the first 3 years of existence of the Centre National Ressources et Résilience (Cn2r), while continuing to be a member of the Canadian Research Chair in Technology Assessment and Advanced Practices as well as senior patient advisor to the Centre d'Excellence du partenariat avec les patients et le public (CEPPP) in Montreal.
