AwardInnovation in Hospital Management
This award will reward a project which will have introduced an innovative approach / concept in the domain of hospital management. Please, have a look on our application criteria: - an applicant cannot submit more than one project. - all projects must have already been “launched” at least in a test/pilot phase with a hospital or a network of hospitals. - applicants must be located in the Greater Region - in case of doubt regarding the applicability of the location criteria to your case, please contact us at hwl-awards@fhlux.lu - applicants must be a healthcare organisation, e.g., a hospital, a hospital network, a research institution, a certified medical centre, or a registered medical society located in the Greater Region.
- applicants may not be an individual.
The jury will evaluate the applications and final pitches of the shortlisted candidates on the basis of an evaluation grid of six elements as follows:
Good practices, Dialogue with stakeholders,
Best market practices
Value for Money, cost/benefit
Service Efficiency, operability.
Methodology, Change management.
Transferability
Impact / Outcomes / Results
The finalists are invited to the Gala Dinner.
The Winner, in addition to visibility, wins a prize of 3000 euros, with the support of the FHL.
This award will reward a “Medical Research Project” for its contribution to the Healthcare sector - with a direct or indirect link to a hospital establishment. Please, have a look on our application criteria: - An applicant cannot submit more than one project. - All projects must have already been “launched” at least in a test/pilot phase with a hospital or a network of hospitals. - Applicants must be located in the Greater Region, in case of doubt regarding the applicability of the location criteria to your case, please contact us at hwl-awards@fhlux.lu - Applicants must be a healthcare organisation, e.g., a hospital, a hospital network, a research institution, a certified medical centre, or a registered medical society located in the Greater Region. - Applicants may not be an individual.
Your project must :
Be innovative and have a direct benefit for patients (“Patient Focus”);
Have a relevant practical impact on care (“applicability”);
Support a streamlined approach to service delivery and delivers increased efficiency and resource savings (“Value for Money, “Cost/Benefit”);
Contain a “market deployment plan” of the project (“Market Feasibility”);
Describe the specificities of the team in charge of the project and how it aligns with its development and market deployment needs (“Team Alignment”;
Describe the stage of the project’s deployment life cycle (“Evaluation Phase”, “Pilot deployment Phase”, “Full Operational Deployment”) and the number of hospitals and how it has been “tested” or “deployed” at (“Methodology).
Celebrating two start-ups of Luxembourg and the Greater Region for projects that have made a noteworthy contribution to the healthcare sector, with a direct or indirect link to a hospital establishment. Please, have a look on our application criteria: - An applicant cannot submit more than one project. - Technology should be an innovative digital technology at least at MVP stage that can demonstrate a benefit for citizens health, and/or patients, and/or healthcare professionals, and/or the healthcare system. - Applicants must be start-up/SMEs companies registered for less than 8 years.

1. a Luxembourg registred company or 2. a company registred in the Greater Region
The jury will evaluate the applications and final pitches of the shortlisted candidates on the basis of an evaluation grid of 6 elements as follows:
The Problem / Pain the project seeks to solve – what it brings directly or indirectly to the hospital sector in general and the patient in particular;
The Unique Selling Proposition (“USP”) of the project;
The market size / customer traction and business model of the project;
The competition and go to market plan of the project;
The matching of the team with the project’s ambitions;
The stage of the project’s deployment life cycle (Evaluation Phase, Pilot deployment Phase, Full operational deployment), if pertinent, the number of hospitals it has been “deployed” at and its funding stage.
The finalists are invited to the Gala Dinner. The winner of theGreater Region start-up will benefit from visibility and a HWL25 booth. The Luxembourgish start-up winner will benefit from visibility and introductions to Luxembourg hospital and healthcare ecosystem by FHL.
